Cricketing career |
Test Matches |
Afridi made his test debut against Australia in 1998. He is the only test cricketer who got the test captaincy after his retirement. Yes, he retired from the longest version of the game in 2006 saying he wasn't suited to the format, but came back in 2010 to lead Pakistan in just a single test match and resigned from captaincy after that! His test career was short but impressive. He played 27 tests scored 1716 runs with 5 hundreds and picked up 48 wickets. Afridi didn't change his natural attacking game even in tests and was criticized for not playing responsibly most of the times during his career. |
ODI Matches |
One of the most entertaining player in the history of the game, Afridi made a mark in his first odi innings by scoring the fastest century in one day cricket. He was just 16 at that time! Afridi is also a very good leg spinner and does an excellent job for Pakistan in the middle overs. He is currently the captain of the Pakistani odi team. |
T20 |
Current captain of the Pakistani t20 side, Afridi is just tailor made for this format. He is an excellent all rounder equally capable to win matches with either bat or ball. He was the man of the tournament in the inaugural icc world t20 and played a crucial part in the 2009 t20 world cup which Pakistan won. |
